(SAVANNAH, GA) Matilda Jane Clothing is pleased to announce the inaugural Derby Day Mother Daughter Chari-TEA to be held on Saturday, May 2 at the Savannah Golf Club from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets are $25, with proceeds benefiting The Next Generation a volunteer organization founded to benefit The Children's Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center.
Children’s clothing entrepreneur Robyn Shirley started her home-based business in 2008 after overcoming breast cancer, a bilateral mastectomy and delivering healthy twin girls. Robyn wanted a business that combined her passion for fashion with her new job as a mother. She became one of Matilda Jane Clothing’s first independent representatives, known as Trunk Keepers.
Robyn's career began in fashion merchandising in New York. But Being a self-proclaimed "Southern girl" her heart led her back home where she received a master’s degree in occupational therapy at the Medical University of South Carolina. There, she met and later married Paul Shirley. They settled in Bluffton, where she managed his Oral Surgery practice and worked as an occupational therapist until devastating news changed everything.
